Hi friends.
Brooklyn was great, sweet, relaxing, but also over-stimulating. It was nice to see so many of my friends at once but my brain still gets a little ping-pongy taking it all in. I’m such a country mouse now. It all got me writing this morning first thing. I love when the prompt is just waiting for you when you wake up.
But first, a picture of Prospect Park, where I walked a dog named Harriet with my friend Alex.
Anyway, this morning, I tried to imagine what my life would be like if I had decided to stay in New York nine years ago instead of moving down to New Orleans. A fun idea, but it’s also beyond my comprehension at a certain point.
I probably would have had to leave my apartment building in Williamsburg rather than fight with the new ownership. I would have moved to a new neighborhood rather than have stayed in my unaffordable one, which is now basically a luxury shopping mall. My brain sort of begins to grind its wheels there.
