Hi friends.
You may have heard we had a lot of snow here in New Orleans yesterday. (And elsewhere in the south, too.) It was a once-in-a-lifetime event for the natives of this city, who spent the day spreading out across town, walking and sledding and being dazzled by the glittering snow. They say we got ten inches!

I’m living on a side street now so I expect it will be another two days before the road is clear solely from melting. (Why would we have snowplows here?) I was glad everyone had a nice time, though.
And while everyone was taking a snow day out in the world I was at home, reading the extremely soothing This Old House, and taking a day off from my work—and the dog, who hated the snow and refused to walk. I’ll work tomorrow, I thought. And I’ll try again to get him to take a walk.
