Hi friends.
I realized I wrote 6 days in a row so I made myself take a day off yesterday even though I could have kept going. Pause, I told myself, so I did. Just let your brain chew on it all for a second.
I went to the gym, I made a vat of red sauce, I caught up on some reading unrelated to anything professional I am doing. I spent time with Brooke and talked to her about her new show. I read the news. I donated some money. I took some pictures in the bluest of hours.
It was good that I paused.
I found myself with enough space to step out of the new book for a moment so I could collect my thoughts. During the pause I remembered this woman who had come up to me at the end of the event with Tricia last weekend. I’d had a lot of conversations that night—it was a beautiful blur, all of it—but I suddenly remembered her, and how she’d said something interesting. And that became a writing prompt for me this morning, so I thought I’d share that with you.
