The pep talk that worked for me.
Hi friends.
We’re about to enter the 1000 Words zone. Two weeks of prep, followed by two weeks of the actual event. And guess what, the slack opens this weekend! I am so excited.
So you will lose me, in a way, even though you’ll be hearing from me more than ever. But the project will become prominent, and I can even feel myself handing over my brain and heart to it. Thinking less of my own personal work and expressing my creative self and thinking more about the greater collaborative effort we are about to engage in together.
Honestly it’s pretty fun to think about. All of us writing together every day? Fuck yeah! It’s my idea of a good time.
Before I dive in I want to share one little note from my journal this morning. I was writing myself a little pep talk as I do on occasion. Because I saw myself sort of darting my eyes around the room, feeling my spirit be a little scattered in a few different directions. And so in the early morning I wrote:
