As a voice (singing) teacher for decades, I'm familiar with more than one side of finding one's voice. It's real work. I know too well how important finding your voice can be and what a long process it often is. I so appreciate Jason's candor about his experience.
I baked a cake today and took it to a party, then I came home and wrote. A lovely day. Thanks for keeping us all going. I cannot believe tomorrow is DOUBLE DIGITS.
(Autocomplete suggested "I cannot believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving" in case anyone is worried about AI writing better than humans do.)
I think I’m beginning to hear my voice—sometimes, in fact, I’ll see what I wrote and think – Hey! I wrote that and it sounds like me but where did that come from? It’s always very surprising.

About ten years ago, a writer friend whom I greatly admire said to me "you have a voice." I was initially flattered, and then terrified.
Since then I've been trying to "listen" to myself write and wondering if that's my voice.
I somehow wrote 1379 words this morning. That puts me at just under 10K total.
My goddddddddddd I love this challenge.
hooray!
At the very least, today I can write 1000 words toward finding my voice. Thanks, Jason!
