Hi friends.

We’re only nine days away from this year’s 1000 Words of Summer! I have been checking out the posts in the slacks and everyone’s looking real good out there. Nice to see some new faces and some familiar ones, too. Pretty cool also to see people coming back year after year, talking about their progress over time. I’m already so proud of everyone for showing up for themselves—and each other.

For some of the newcomers, I wanted to share a few tips on how to prep for this two-week writing extravaganza. And even if you’re an old pro, sometimes it helps to get a little refresh. And these are just things that work for me, of course, but I just thought I’d share them.
