Hi friends.

Today is a good day to reach out to a writing buddy and ask them how their work is going. Just a no-pressure check-in, neutral and open and receptive and supportive. We all know sometimes the work is going great and I am a total genius and sometimes it’s absolute garbage and I am a total hack and really, our job is just to listen, and allow the release. And if we ask that one little question, maybe someone will ask us in return.

As for me, oh lord, I can barely even tell you what I’ve been doing over here, but I have been doing something.

Yes, everything continues to be moving in slow motion, in this sort of smeary, bleary heat, reminding me a little bit of early pandemic when everything blurred together. It’s the weather, it’s the state of the political union, and it’s the waiting for the next thing to happen, all bundled up together.

The grass is high all over town. We can’t even bother to mow it. We just watch it grow.
