I'm in the middle of revisions for my first picture book of the year. Hopefully, by June I'll have at least 5 new drafts since I'm doing the 12 x 12 challenge. Maybe I'll even take a look at another project I set aside some time ago.
You, your words, and #1000 words of summer inspire me.
There's so many great things going on there, I'm not sure I can pick just one. I like that it's a low-pressure challenge at the same time providing accountability if you want or need it. I do! The monthly badges you can earn are a huge motivator for me. The forum, book chats, and webinars are a wealth of knowledge, all in a welcoming community.
Can I tell you, this was the most powerful exercise! To this point, I've *never* stopped to ask myself where I want to be with a project several months down the line, not in this way, jumping over a block of time. I normally block out chunks of time, or I'll set up goals such as having written this many chapters, etc. But to actually visualize it? To quantum leap it?! I don't know why this resonated so deeply for me, but THANK YOU. I set it immediately, visualizing what I want to be working on for Memorial Day weekend. Thank you so much.
I’m currently working on the first draft of part three of my novel. My goal is mid-June. Your timing is perfectly in sync with my hopeful goal. Count me in again this year. Thanks, Jami.
I enjoyed the daily emails so much -- and one of them introduced me to my absolute favorite read of 2024: Kaveh Akbar's "Martyr!" I'm looking forward to seeing who is on the 2025 roster! Thank you!!
Just a snippet of this interview on the Bookcase was featured on their 'advice' roundup. What he shared was so relatable and genius it made me want to read Martyr!
ahh always wanted to participate but always was on the go and traveling, so excited to join this Summer!! also joining you in finishing my draft - i just started my rewrite for the 6th draft, so it shall be an exciting time :))
I’m currently rewriting my first draft from 3rd person to 1st person 😅 I need to make sure I get that version done ASAP. Then I can work on the rest of the revisions… I’ll probably be knee deep in that for this year’s #1000words!

I've moved onto LibreOffice, so editing my work will be so much easier.
