I'm still on the same project as last year. Unlike last year, I have a rough outline. With #1000wordsofsummer starting up again, I'm going back to writing by hand in bed, last thing at night, then typing it up in the morning. For some reason, a decent session always ended up right about 1000 words.
I love your letters. Do you think it’s best to have a specific project in mind at the start of 1000 words? I have a halfway complete screenplay to return to, and I’m passionate about it, but I’m also wondering if exploring whatever prose emerges naturally might be better suited to the challenge
I think if you're someone who has trouble getting started it's better to have a project in mind rather than risk freezing from the get-go. Otherwise, I don't think it matters! Depends on what kind of fun you want to have. Like the fun that comes from chipping away at a project and getting closer to completion? Or the fun that just comes from being totally wild and free and experimental?
That’s what I call a true success story with inspiration for days! Thanks Jami for sharing it.

How do I sign up for #1000wordsofsummer? I am so ready for this!
It's all the same list! You're on it.
