Whoa. An existential question! Loved it, and also appreciate that I am not alone in having to wear double glasses these days. I had no idea bifocal contacts even existed, so I will be calling my eye doctor about that. Today, my alarm went off to get up and write, but I hit snooze. I had a headache and was just so bone-tired. Being a high school teacher in the last few weeks of school is a no-joke mud-crawl at times. But knowing that I only needed to get to the 1K mark enabled me to prioritize the writing. There were other writing adjacent tasks that I maybe could have gotten done in that time and would have taken less focus and commitment, but I said, "No, this is first." I wrote 600 words and then another 400 at school in between classes. So, I made it on a day that, without this challenge, I would have given up on. Woo-hoo!
This is a wonderful visualization that works well for me because I also have some of the vision issues Susan Choi describes. And I LOVE the idea that what I'm writing already exists. Thanks!
This is excellent. I do often feel like I’m discovering the story more than writing it. Not that this lessens the work involved. I’m having so much fun this time.
I noticed yesterday that all of the voice around me were crisp. I was so tuned in. It was snippets of dialogue which is always hard and clumsy for me to write. It reminded me that when I am in writing mode all the senses are open. On fire. Sometimes listening is also writing too. Fodder. How about you?
Wow! I will look like a mad woman with excerpts of all these insights printed and taped on my wall. And we’re just on Day 4!
A magic trick indeed! And yet so reassuring.
Reassurance- that's the emotion I was looking for. Agree so much.

Wow. Just... wow. The idea that the thing already exists and we're just bringing it into focus. So soothing...
It's such a good letter!!
To (mis)quote Little Women, "I wish it was #1000wordsofsummer all the time, wouldn't it be fun?"
Try living my life, lol.
It would be! And totally exhausting (in a good way).

Also, I'm chuckling over here at the "Why am I telling you all of this?" moment. So brilliant!
And here I thought I was the only one who went through such lengths for clarity and focus. So much insight in here. Thank you for sharing it!
All of this!! Just the best!!! Thanks all y’all. ❤️
1568 today -- rolling now! Also, I love this.
Love these images and her thoughts about what writing is ! Thanks you !
