Writing is like a muscle. Get up from your chair. Say no. Excellent, concrete advice I can try to follow, though, me being me, I will need to be reminded frequently. This also kinda sounds like maybe I deserve a better chair & can spend the money on it--like, on myself.

love it! I'm switching up how I'm approaching this year's challenge - I am fortunate to have a friend's place to escape to (while he is in Italy & Portugal this summer) and do my creating. I was filled with wonder and gratitude as I sat on his terrace in the brilliant June sunshine.

I'm personally loving "say no to 10 things a week." Are all writers recovering people pleasers? 🤣

Wow! What a rockstar of a pick for today's inspiring author! Is there anyway to tag or link to the author's substack if they are here on substack? If not, no worries, cuz I've already followed your links to the outside world wide web. To Emily from another Emily, I can empathize as many of us can with anxiety and concern over climate change. In part, my arting and writing project currently that coincides with 1,000 words of Summer is highlighting people who are actively working to mitigate the impacts of climate change in their communities. I'm also an avid reader and curious mind about water cycles, permaculture, and syntropic agroforestry. I'm by no means an expert in anything. In fact I'm a jack of way too many trades, yet my enthusiasm and interest in doing something, whether it's art or drawing, it doesn't seem to stop me. Thank you for being our guest inspirer for today!

If they have a substack, I link to it. But not everyone has a substack. ;)

One thousand answers to one question! Love! 1,073 words tonight in the backyard with lots of birds and a cool breeze. This project is the best way to start the summer and surprise yourself on a daily basis. I'm a morning writer, but I love quiet evening backyard writing at the end of a hot day! See you all here for day 7??!!!
