Hi friends. I made it home alive from my tour. There were some more nice reviews in The New York Times Book Review, USA Today, The Observer in the UK and more. All of this transpired when I was on the road, so I paused and observed and tweeted, and then moved onto the next. This is the same as always. Blink, and your book launch is over. But this time, everything was even more compressed.
Thank you for this on many levels; for taking us with you on your book journey; for the reminder of the importance of actual human contact, so constrained over the past 2 years; for sharing your energy now pointed toward the next thing. Also, great final line--I love a woman who's not afraid to enjoy!
Loved reading this, loved your book, and I so appreciate your sharing something of the journey with us. Publishing a book was like nothing I'd ever experienced (have only done it once)...and I didn't have any sort of in-person tour...and I enjoyed reading about yours and hearing all the details. Thank you, Jami!! I am sorry I missed a couple of virtual events I hope I can see the replay.
Loved reading this week’s newsletter. It seems that your experience with the book tour perfectly encapsulates the highs and lows of this pandemic. Personally, I am trying not to focus in too much on your snippets with the anti maskers and general haters - and why oh why does it always have to happen on or around transportation?
Inspiring, as always. Very nice to meet you in that beautiful icebox of a church in Brooklyn. I could have listened and chatted for days. Connecting with other creatives, especially writers, is something I could use a lot more of. I’m really grateful to you, Kristen, and all the Books are Magic folks for hanging in there and keeping the event live. It fed me. I later tuned in for your event with Ben Dreyer because I adore him, too, and listening to you together was rich and wonderful. Always grateful for what you put into the world. Thanks!
Your book came in the mail yesterday. I really love your newsletter, Jami, every issue lights me up. In this one, extra gold stars for "it's not about capitalism, it's about connection." All the differences are important evolutionary developments, we're just seeing them happen so fast, but behind and underneath it is connection. Maintain that and we're going to be all right. Thank you for this newsletter, and the book, and all that you are, thank you, yes.
Congratulations! So happy for you that at last you could get out during this tricky time and meet your readers, your friends and all those lucky folks who could come to the in-person meetings.
Wishing you continued success and most of all a daily dose of pure joy.
This was so incredibly beautiful, Jami. The idea of waking up, choosing joy for that day and the rest of your life continuing on from that point brought tears to my eyes. Also because I was thinking that I’ve been able—through this newsletter—to be beside you during the evolution of this book and my goodness, what a wonderful journey!
My copy from Books Are Magic arrived yesterday (WITH SID STICKERS HOORAY) and I can’t wait to curl up with it.
Thank you for sharing all of this with me, and all of us. 💗

Only connect. Only connect. 🌸
surrounding you with love, Jami!
I love your honesty and vulnerability and joy and disappointment and resilience and gratitude, all together.
