Hi Friends, Who wants to talk about process? This morning I got up early, a little confused because of daylight savings, and then fought the desire to go back to sleep. Instead, I stayed awake and decided to read, and the sensation was like I had lit a golden-hued kerosene lamp in the darkness. The streets outside were quiet. The dog was snoring at my feet. My brain was warm and receptive to the words.
Jami, I finished your memoir the other day and I was sad to close the book. Your honesty and candor made me feel like we were having a cup of coffee together, or better, a cocktail, and just talking about life. I am in awe of how you opened up your life, good, bad and not-so-good for all of us to experience. There is no way I would have the confidence or courage to be that honest about all of my mistakes and sketchy behavior when I was in my 20's and 30's, but I am so glad you did. You may find that each of us who follow you will feel like we know you. You did that with your memoir. Someday I hope to meet you in person for that cocktail and a long candid chat.
Cheers to your success! Sending my best wishes that your current happiness continues on and on.
Beautiful Jami! Though I slept in this morning - too much sake and reconnecting with a newish friend at neighborhood sushi bar last night- I too relish an early morning, read-a-book in bed kind of day followed by what I call a "Kathleen Day" - a day to explore and have an adventure or 2. Just dipping my toes into "writing" as being my raison d'etre but I'll get there. You have inspired me and I am so very grateful that I came "all this way to meet you". Slainte ( making a corned beef dinner as I type)
"(Before you think I’m virtuous what if I told you I am just trying to stay sane?)" -- sublime!
Late to the party but not lacking enthusiasm or gratitude for this missive. Your generosity is appreciated, and you’re always inspiring. Thanks, Jami!

The internet is the enemy of creativity, and yet we love it so!
