Good afternoon from cold and snowy Virginia! As a member of Sisters in Crime, I decided to take part in the January Jumpstart this year and join a SinC virtual write-in every day in January. It began yesterday, so far I'm two for two and loving it! It's a great motivator to put words on the page in company with other dedicated writers. I should be editing a book, but the moderator began with a prompt yesterday. That kick started new ideas in my brain, so I'm working on a short story instead. I am not an experienced short story writer, but I'm enjoying the challenge. Even if this story never leaves my writing desk, I'm having fun with it! Happy writing everyone!
Good morning from SoCal. I copied and pasted two notes from your newsletter this morning. I'll use them as I continue to discover my characters on this last day of mini-1000 words. Thank you for those ideas. Stay warm.
Congrats on the paperback launch! It currently "feels like" 4° in Boston, which reminds me of biking in frigid weather to a local indie to pick up my preorder of your memoir in Jan 2022... at least we caught a break with that September pub date in 2024!
I did it! I upgraded my subscription and am so excited to be engaging more deeply with this community!
Here for the ride!
Same. Very excited to be a new subscriber.
Yes Michelle!! Glad to have you!

January publications are ☠️☠️☠️
Congrats on your paperback release! Grateful for your instinctual support. It really helps to keep the drum beating.
Ack! So bummed (but happy for you) the Nashville event is sold out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Carmichael's Books in Louisville soon. :)
